Where others see problems, Vienna Meurysse (29) sees learning opportunities. As a Quality Officer, she feels that striving for excellence and the very best quality are a perfect combination. "When a mistake happens, I always wonder: how can we improve this?"

Why did you choose that particular value?

"In everything I do, I try to achieve excellence and the very best quality. It takes hard work, but it also leads to success, satisfaction and recognition. It inspires me to constantly grow and improve myself, because excellence is an ideal you can never truly achieve. It demands constant effort. And I love that!"

How do you apply this value in your work?

"This value is a perfect match with my job. To achieve the best quality, I uphold very high standards by rigorously following our quality, safety and work instructions. I see any mistakes and problems as valuable learning opportunities to improve our work processes. I'm quite an enthusiastic person by nature, so I try to inspire colleagues to adopt that same mindset of continuous improvement and learning. I'm part of an excellent team, and my collaboration with production is also very good. We all pursue the same goal: to deliver the best, most beautiful products to the customer."

You set the bar high. What are you most proud of?

"Every successful improvement project takes our operation to the next level. That gives me a great sense of satisfaction. For instance, I'm very proud of the quality management system our team has developed. Another project I contributed to is our quality assurance process for the raw materials we get from external suppliers. It stops any raw materials that don't meet the quality requirements from entering our own production process."

Is this value also part of your private life?

"Certainly, my perfectionism is a huge part of my private life (laughs). I'm someone who likes to set goals. For example, it was very important to me that I passed my ICT and administration course. It was not easy to combine it with my job, but I wanted to excel in the course too. And I did. I'm currently taking a Quality Coordinator training course in night school and I have more Unilin courses coming up as well. I keep growing and learning, I'm a busy bee (winks). I love it that Unilin promotes lifelong learning like this."
