Julie applied for a job with Unilin Group even before completing the first semester of her master-after-master training.  Just one year later she has her eye on the next step in her career at Unilin Group.

Julie is a member of the content team at Unilin Panels: “It’s a fun component of the marketing department”, she says. “In a little while I’ll be getting a taste of other subdisciplines of marketing, a bit more all-round.”

“When I saw the vacancy I didn’t hesitate. I grew up in the neighbourhood and I know the company really well”, Julie says. “Unfortunately, with my first application I narrowly missed out on the job.” HR called her with the news but they added she would definitely be a good fit for the company. “At first I thought they said it to sweeten the pill but to my surprise they contacted me just two weeks later for another position.”

At home in the company

After twelve months Julie feels completely at home in the company. “I like to take initiative and they appreciate that here”, she continues. “When I make a suggestion they tell me to run with it. They like it when you grab the bull by the horns.”

As a world player Unilin Group offers a host of perspectives for new graduates. That was why Julie picked this company. “I was - and still am - interested to learn as much as I can. And in a company with such a large marketing department you can

learn much more than in a smaller firm. Everything I ever came across in my study books I also encounter in my job.”

Working your way up to a job with more responsibility

In the longer term Julie would like to advance to a role with more responsibility. Julie: “Preferably within marketing. Combining content with the organisation of events and campaigns, for instance. But who knows, I may eventually transfer to the sales team. That’s the fun part: my future isn’t carved in stone yet.”

It’s plain to see her path at Unilin is far from finished but where it leads is anyone’s guess.
